Simply Smiles

What are Simply Smiles Braces?

Simply Smile is a branded brace system, made of ceramic brackets and wires that blend with your natural tooth colour.

Simply Smile is incredibly discreet and designed to straighten the front teeth whilst preserving the aesthetics of your smile throughout the whole treatment process, instead of treating the way the posterior teeth bite together, the aim of this brace is to improve the smile, and it focuses predominantly on the six front teeth. Because of this, treatment time is considerably shorter than with other orthodontic systems and by putting light pressure on your teeth, Simply Smile braces gently move the teeth into the appropriate position. The system uses a combination of traditional and bespoke techniques.

Who Is Suitable For Simply Smile Braces?

Simply Smile braces are popular with adults, particularly those that participate in a lot of work in the public eye, due to the discreet appearance of the brace that doesn’t interfere with the aesthetics of the smile, also socialising is not affected by this treatment. We recommend Simply Smile braces for patients who are concerned with the following issues:

  • Straightening misaligned teeth
  • Gum line alignment
  • Correcting flared teeth
  • Closing spaces between teeth
  • Time and complexity of treatment

Are Simply Smile Braces Invisible?

As they are made from clear ceramic, the braces are extremely discreet and not as noticeable as other fixed brace systems.

Should You Avoid Eating Certain Foods During Treatment?

You should avoid foods that contain high levels of sugar as well as crunchy, hard foods that can damage the brace. You must also follow a healthy diet whilst wearing Simply Smile braces.

Why Is The Treatment Process So Quick?

As the brace is designed to treat the aesthetics of your smile rather than your bite, treatment time doesn’t take as long as traditional orthodontics systems. Treating the bite can take around two years.

Will Your Teeth Stay Straight When The Treatment Is Over?

You will be advised to wear a removable retainer afterwards, as with all orthodontic treatments, to ensure that your teeth don’t move back to their original positions once the brace has been taken out. A retainer is a custom-made transparent tray which moulds perfectly to the finished position of your teeth. At 33 Dental we also provide a fixed retainer which is a thin piece of wire attached to the back of your teeth (“lingually”), it is permanently bonded and can not be seen. Removable retainers are generally only worn at night.

Do Simply Smiles Braces Hurt?

You won’t feel any pain when the brace is being fitted, however it is not uncommon for patients to feel some slight discomfort in the initial stages, this should only last for one or two days after the fitting.

Will Your Speech Be Affected?

As our Simply Smile braces are fitted to the front of your teeth, you won’t find any problems with speaking during the treatment process.

COVID-19 update

Many of you will be aware that during the latest Covid 19 update dental practices have been given the green light to re-open the surgery from 8th June. Whilst this is good news, there are a number of procedures that we have being putting in place to make treatment safe for our patients and staff, as we are sure you will appreciate, this is taking some time to set up.

Our intention is, if at all possible to commence opening on the 8th June but this is entirely dependent on our ability to obtain training and appropriate PPE which as you know there is a great shortage of. This equipment will be essential for us to be able to operate.

From 8th- 29th of June we will be prioritising the most urgent of cases including those who have been experiencing problems during this lockdown period. We will contact you directly to arrange an appointment. This period may be extended if required.

Rest assured we are trying our utmost to source this PPE as soon as possible to enable us to extend our treatment further to include fillings, crown/bridge work, root treatments and surgical extractions, scale & polish ect.

We anticipate that it will be several weeks before we will be able to commence these more advanced procedures.

This is a rapidly changing environment which we are adapting to as quickly as we possibly can. We really appreciate your patience and understanding throughout this difficult period and look forward to welcoming you back to the practice soon.
